$ 2.50 each day will go to charity – Charities selected this year include St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Center, St. Edward the Confessor Parish Outreach.
$1.50 each day will be used to supplement other classroom and school program activities. Activities such as participation in Diocesan contests, DVD’s and DVD players for the classrooms, Catholic Schools Week Activities, and advertising for the school.
$1.00 each day will go towards the Brian Murphy Fund.
Dress Down/Dress Day
Non-uniform day clothing is to be appropriate to a learning environment. Clothing that causes a distraction or disruption in the school and creates a health or safety risk is deemed inappropriate for students.
Examples of clothes that disrupt the education process include: beach attire, lounge/pajama wear (except on Pajama Day), visible undergarments, crop tops, and lettering advertising tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs or designs considered in poor taste.
The following dress is not allowed as it may disrupt the educational setting:
No part of any undergarment is to be visible while standing or sitting No bare midriffs
No strapless tops or low cut tops
No short shorts or skirts
No hats, bandannas, scarves, or their headwear during the school day. Students are expected to remove headwear upon entering the building. No coats, jackets, or outerwear during the school day.
Accessorize your uniform days – Children are permitted to wear hats, socks, ties, jewelry that go with the theme of the day. (These events are 2.00 each)
To Pay for Dress Down Days, you have two options. First, you can pay as you go. Handing in $5. 00 that morning to the homeroom teacher. (Accessorize your uniform days are only $ 2.00) These payments should be submitted in an envelope clearly marked with the child’s name and grade. Second, you can pay for the entire year ahead of time, paying $50.00 now and saving over $15.00 for the year. If you want to pay ahead of time, please return $50.00 Check or Cash to the school office in an envelope with your child’s name and class on it. Please mark the envelope Dress Up/Dress Down. Checks should be made out to St. Edwards Special Events. Children who purchase the year-long dress down pass will receive a special Card which they should wear on the assigned dress down days.
Please Note: Additional Dress Down Days may be added should a special need arise. You will receive notification of those days ahead of time.
